Finally had our Safety trainin today!! it has been dragged for wks n wks n wks b4 they finally arranged a safety briefing for us.. WAs supposed to a 2hr training but we ended up taking almost 3hrs+ to finish.. Me n jul oso suspect tat mayb is cos e new safety officer is oso undergoing e same training with us tats y e trainin was dragged.. N we ended up almost fallin asleeep after his 1hrs+ talk.

Luckily Mr AMresh gave us a 5min break. Talk abt almost everyting on safety n environment. BUT, there is 1 ting tat i must admit, MR AMresh surely is a Very GD SPeaker.. He can link by asking u nonsentical stuff to safety issues n lab safety..

So overall, half of our day was gone to safety training.. N we ended up doin a little tings today onli.
1 of the sentence tat he mentioned n is engraved in my mind is:

Furthermore, i oso agreed with him tat one's Beliefs N values can changed as we grow or r being affected by e our surroundings. N our mind R divided into 2 classes.

1) Subconscious mind controls our biological functions, emotions & feelings , beliefs & values.
2) Conscious mind controls our physical functions, sensory & thinking process.

Did sensory test today again.. N found tat actually most of e foods tat we r consuming are actually added with additives, flavourings. ok.. TO be more exact, flavourings are made up of chemicals. N tat means tat we are eating chemicals.

Thinking of tat makes my hair stands up. GOsh.. furthermore, my colleague oso said tat those labelled with natural flavourings n additives might not really be tat "natural".. This is because they might still use flavourings in e product, except tat mayb e raw materials use to produce e flavourings are natural, tats y it is callled natural flavouring..

supposed to have safety training today, but it was cancelled, n was being postphoned to next wed/thurs.

Was asked to DO sensory testing for finished goods today.. Yeah.. LEarned some ting new N tat was wat i wan to do when i was always asked to test for raw materials instead. :)

SEnsory test consist of both smelling as well as tasting of e samples and making comparison with e references.

Finally had my wish. HOwever, the taste of e finished goods were not as nice tastin as i tink it was. With the exceptions of e fruity flavours only. Other flavours tat i had e chance to taste todae are: caffeine, butter, ghee, Char Siew, mayonnaise etc.. WOW MAN~ these flavours taste YUCKS loh!! Except cheese, which was both smelly n taste yucky..
But e smell for others mentioned was still bearable, although not so acceptable by me. =)


O.. SAfety training tml~!! I wonder if i will fall asleep in tat i tink 1hr talk. haha :) In addition, i oso heard frm my supervisor tat e trainer will keep on asking u qns to c if u r listening to him not. OH MY GOSH, i wonder if i will b able to ans his qns not..

ALright, today can be said to be another enjoyable day.. Firstly, whole of IFF workers (includin production line, QC, admin ppl) was asked to attend e safety cultural workshop named 'Hearts and Minds'.. When e whole of us in our dept heard SAFETY TALK, all we go was "AH... XIAN...", cos tat was our mindset tat e speaker would definitely b a borin person, readin frm e slides etc.

However, tat was not so, as e speaker not onli asked qns to e floor, he oso give choco to those ppl tat can ans his qns. Moreover, he even tried to say some jokes to entertain e floor.. haha :) Overall, his presenation was quite ok, although many said tat his "1-1 safety talk" would be quite stressful, as he would keep on askin qns, to c if u have been listening to him or not.

Then, after e workshop, we had a small sort of 'mooncake festival early celebration' with all e staff there. In addition, we oso played a small game, by lookin at the babies photos of the staff there and guessing who they are. Even though both jul n me are separated into diff grps, we still enoy ourselves, as we get to interact around.

After tat, it was e sharing of e MOONCAKES~!! among all the staffs. Pomelos n chinese tea was oso given as well. O.. N a small sovenior was given to all the staff tat have attended e talk, n e sovenior was a mug, which was quite nice of them, as we as interns were oso given. In future, this could act as a memorial item tat i have been to tat company to work b4. ^_^

Overall, was an enjoyable day.
